Comments for Tonio K, amerika

The greatest album from the greatest protest singer of thePunk/New Age era. It drips with irony and indignation. Most surprising is that everything he was opposed to in1980 is so much worse now. Ethnic hate, the loss ofinnocence, the horrible things that contact with the "realworld" does to idealists, media manipulation of our selfimages; we`ve seen so much more of that since 1980. He saw itcoming. He drops (or sublimates) the rage at the end ofthe album by diving into Dadaism, with the wonderfullybizarre Merzsuite songs. Got to hear it to believe it.My favorite album of all time (of thousands).
