Probably the best U2 album overall ever released. If you don't have it, your music collection is seriously lacking...

Some would argue that this album was produced when U2 were at their best! I believe this album was the last that they produced in which their passions were still running as their own. Bono's lyrics and vocal contributions have never had quite the same effect on subsequent albums. And the music, I think speaks for itself. A definite must in any collection.

please, send me lyrics and notes of this album. Thank you ever so much!

***** (5 star Scale)-- Definitely one of the most essential albums of the decade, and definitely essential to any music lover's collection. Brilliant music and personal lyrics provide this record with a musical lush that many bands only hope for. PRIME CUTS: "Still Haven't Found", "Where the Streets..", "Bullet the Blue Sky","Running TO Stand Still","Red Hill Mining","God's Country"--J.teel

anyone who likes the song "with or without you" needs to see the movie BLOWN AWAY. the movie has a great soundtrack that includes many oldie but goodie U2 songs!

There is no question that U2 has gone slightly downhill since the release of the Joshua Tree. In my opinion, there is no album/cd that compares to that of the Joshua Tree. Really, can anyone name a bad song or lyric.. It's impossible to! However, if we consider ie. Zooropa one definetly has the right to ask what the f___ they were doing or smoking when they were recording Daddys Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car? U2 has definetly strayed away from what made them what they are today. If only they would release more music that brings out the artists within and not the the artists that make money! -Please, if anyone has the guitar tabs to Joshua Tree please send them this way ....Thanx

In my opinion the best album by U2 or any other band...U2 has definately gone in a different direction since Rattle and Hum,but I wouldn't say it is for the worse.

Un album realizado del modo perfecto en el momento perfecto, sin embargo tiene un sonido que empieza a oler a obsolencia...

This album is definitely to be considered one of the Top Ten Albums of the Decade: a true classic. Your collection is lacking without this one.

One of the greatest albums ever, nuff said.

I agree with those who think that this is the album that was made at the peek of U2´s career. I like many songs of recent albums that some people call "alternative" ("Even better than...", "Zooropa", "Misterious ways"), but I never heard again a chorus like the one of "I still haven´t found..." or a feeling similar to the one that Bono shows when he sings "With or without you". I love this album ´cause is just, simply rock. By the way (gee, finally he said it after all that stuff), could someone out there send me the lyrics of these couple of songs? Excuse me if my english is too bad, I talk Spanish. Thanks. Gracias. THE TRUE GHOST RIDER (a.k.a. JEZ-SAN)

Hey jteel and all you u2 loving faggots, this album sucks, your all a bunch of DIKES. IF YOU LIKE SHIT YOU LIKE U2 AND YOU LIKE THIS ALBUM.
E-MAIL: fairall@server.uwindsor.ca
There were many hits that came off of this album but I think that the best song on it is Mothers of the Disappeared.
E-MAIL: laykroyd@uvic.ca
Maybe the best album of the 8os. Real passion, unlike their more recent work. Songs range from tension and beauty of "With Or WIthout YOu" to the rolling freedom of "Where the Streets.." Must-have album--too bad U2 seems to want to waste their time these days.
E-MAIL: redeemed@enter.net
I was the country's biggest U2 fan until this albumn. It was the beginning of the end for U2 as far as I'm concerned. This albumn was depressing.
E-MAIL: shb@134.121.243.79
I totally agree with laykroyd@uvic.ca. Joshua Tree is the masterpiece of the 80s, its high intensity and power of expression definitely entitle it as the emblem-album of the past decade. And the best album U2 have ever made.
E-MAIL: rsodre@dotbr.com
Without doubts this album should be in "the 10 best Rock 'n Roll album ever made" list

Every time you listen to this cd, you're hit (and I mean brick in the face) with something new.
E-MAIL: ns6pdj@bath.ac.uk
This is the best U2 albumn by an absolute mile, and I believe possibly on of the best Rock 'n Roll Albums ever made!

How the hell did this album get the rating 7.4?!? This is U2's most beautiful album. "Where the Streets.." is unforgettable! "I still haven't found..." is one of, if not the greatest love songs ever written!
E-MAIL: KaiSchneider@compuserve.com
Before this bloody tree, U2 made very progressive and unusual music never heard before. Though "Streets", "Haven't Found" and "W Or W/O U" are great songs, they have nothing you couldn't find before on "War" or "Unforgettable Fire". With the rest of this album, U2 kissed the ass of the public for the first time and got into this fucked up hausfrauen-blues formerly preserved to white asses like Bryan Adams and co. That's why the hell it's rated only 7.8 (however, I gave it an 8).
E-MAIL: dsr9996@acs.tamu.edu
Apologies to some of the people above, but this album should have a 10 rating. Open up your ears and listen to Red Hill Mining Town again. The other songs speak for themselves.

Actually, I'm inclined to agree with what some of you chaps up there have said. It's good, but not their best (unlike POP, which was clever but not good). Who gave some joker the idea that "I Still.." is a love song? (Unless you count love of God under that category). There is some top-notch material here ('Streets', 'I Still..') but the high-point was the slightly darker stuff ('Bullet' and 'Exit'). Bullet the Blue Sky is one of U2's top five songs ever. He should've done a few more like that on POP, instead of singing crap (sorry, but it's true) like MOFO and PLEASE. Wake up, dead U2! (or maybe they're just sleeping)

I think the Joshua Tree album is excellent. My favourite tracks apart from the first 3 are 1)Exit, 2)Bullet The Blue Sky, 3)Red Hill Mining Town and 4)In God's Country. The is the best album of their career, it has sold in excess of 15 million copies worldwide, they used excellent producers (Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois) and your CD collection is not complete without this one.

Most expressive and sincere rock album I''ve ever heard. Great! Every song is a masterpiece, but "Red Hill Mining Town", "Running To Stand Still" and "One Tree Hill" - my favourite songs.
patrik.sahlgren@telia.com
This album is very different, a masterpiece!
