Comments for Beatles, The, Live! at the Star - Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962

The legend goes, that Liverpool singer Kingsize Taylor used a lone microphone and a prehistoric tape recorder to record the Beatles in Germany for personal pleasure. It was found later under a pile of rubble in an abandoned building. After all the remastering, reproduction, and the most expensive redoing in music history (more than the price of "Sgt. Pepper" originally), and the sound quality is still not up to par. The vocals are drowned by electric guitars. Still, it is an entertaining document of the Beatles during their Reeperbahn tenure.
