Comments for Van Halen, 1984E-MAIL: ss2 GREAT MUSIC!E-MAIL: ss2 GREAT MUSIC!E-MAIL: hbhunter@nbnet.nb.ca This album brought this band to the video kingdom...this band called jump...and did they ever jump! I mean they took the v out of videos....they put videos in perspective... Has anyone drank Alpine Beer ? Its pretty good stuff from the Maritimes.E-MAIL: drsst6+@pitt.edu "Hot for Teacher" is a great song-too bad they never do it in concert anymore...E-MAIL: gmnovack@artsci.wustl.edu This is THE unquestionable best VH album ever. I rate albums by quantity of good songs, and no other album has as many as this. Balance, the #2 album comes up one song short. The best single song goes to "'Aint Talkin 'Bout Love"E-MAIL: ujmhammond@cc.memphis.edu This album kicks ass, except for the extensive use of keyboards!E-MAIL: skattula@gmu.edu Man, is "Panama" ever a great song or what! Now that the band starts the song w/the drum beat in concert , there is truly another dimension to the song which I had never heard before! By far the best album musically of the Roth era. Jump seems to be the perfect epidemy of the classic 80's pop song, while Panama does the same thing for 80's rock. This was, in my opinion, also the first album where Alex VH really started to come into his own. subliminal message:ANDY RICHTER IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh... and "Drop Dead Legs" has an awsome groove to it, almost like a slow "Amsterdam".E-MAIL: abe@airmail.net I think Rolling Stone or some other major publication did a list of the top 25 albums of all time, and 1984 was the only VH album to make it. I believe this the best VH album ever, with Van Halen I a close second. If you think about it, 1984 has arguably the most famous keyboard song ever, Jump, while Van Halen I has the most famous guitar solo ever, Eruption.E-MAIL: tallen@psyber.com 1 ya hoooooooo!E-MAIL: sacha@ccr.dsi.uanl.mx The best rock album of the decade. Panama is simply great. Eddie shows in the album the because of the nickname they put him as the guitar "king".E-MAIL: Kent.Tran@GEMS1.GOV.BC.CA One heck of an album. I don't know if anyone noticed but the Jump video really represent of what rock n roll is about. from the clothes, the instruments, the mood, looks and atmosphere. Although it is one of the cheapest video to make out of Van Halen's pocket. It is no doubt the best. It's the image that music in the 90's lack. Just take a look at all those band nowaday: Green day, Pearl Jam, Sound garden, Bush Etc... All these band could never influence the real musicians WHY? same drum beat, same drum set, same chords etc... I am sorry to say that Eddie, Alex, Sammy, Michael, and Dave spoiled for all the band nowadayE-MAIL: Carey@world.net Not all of the songs are the best, but there is one song that makes up for all the others, JUMP!!!E-MAIL: CoolGuy DLR is hard. Jump is by far way cooler than all this Gay Amsterdam crap that Sammy writes. Sammy, stop doing wild animals. By the way, sorry you got dicked for DLR.E-MAIL: awillems@dds.nl Diamon' Dave in his best part ever.....E-MAIL: motomo5376 1984 is I think one of the best albums to come out of the eighties, and the greatest van halen and all around rock song is JUMP!!!! aND does anyone know if it made billboard for 1984?E-MAIL: motomo5376 1984 is I think one of the best albums to come out of the eighties, and the greatest van halen and all around rock song is JUMP!!!! aND does anyone know if it made billboard for 1984?E-MAIL: illtiger1 @ aol.com 3 words - house of pain. the coolest most diverse vh song ever. this cd rules.E-MAIL: jici@hotmail.com IN FRENCH LE SON DE LA GUITAR EST INFERNALE.UN BEAT D'ENFER J'ADORE, J'AI 9 DES 12 ALBUMSE-MAIL: Red-Ace1@worldnet.att.net .....one word about the album "1984": J U M P!E-MAIL: Sammy Hagar ===vAN hALEN=== is a pile of shit.'nuff said.E-MAIL: Usuck2@hotmail.com The only Van Halen cd I like. Some awsome songs on this one. The band just went downhill after Dave left.E-MAIL: vhroth@aol suck a dongE-MAIL: davidleeroth_rules@vanhalen.com I love this album. I graduated from high school in 1984! This was the last album from the Mighty Van Halen. After Dave, VH became Journey. I saw DLR live three times this year. He opened his shows with Hot For Teacher. He also played Panama and Jump. Dave still rocks! Van Halen has 4 choices at this time. (1) Retire (not likely) (2) Get Sammy back and return to their place as the kings of mediocity. (3) Get a 4th singer and become the laughing stock of rock. (4) Get Dave back and save us all from the shitty state of music that MTV has led us to. Pick up the phone, Eddie! Swallow your pride and give the fans what they want! This is one of the best Van Halen albums of all time. With David Lee Roth on the mic this album rocks.laszlo@hotmail.com For those who've read this and the other David Lee Roth-era Van Halen albums, the catalog numbers are changed to the most recent ones that on the remastered versions, which I think personally sound much better than the older ones. The sound is much cleaner and less scratchy. Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
