All tapping aside, what truly makes Eddie Van Halen the GOD that he is, is his rhythmic displacement of notes. Check out the harmonic lick in "Good Enough" (strings E,A --12th,7th,5th,4th frets, b7th tension at end)... Where did that come from?!?! Hendrix is quite good at making my skin crawl too.

"5150" has got to be the greatest Van Halen song ever. Van Halen is truely better with Hagar instead of Dave.

The only concert I ever went to was during the "For unlawful carnal knowledge " tour, in which, was in Buffalo,NY., was quite the blast. I mean it was meaningful....this bar had a Van Halen cover band, right, and If you had a ticket for the concert you got a free meal and a little taste of Van Halen live by some young Yankees thinkin they are the opening act...they were pretty good...actually they were better than the opening act "Love Hate" who sucked really bad...I should have a talk with their agent...Van Halen is by the farmost cool-l-l! The beach boys are not definitely associated with the beach...the Van Halen rock group is, man! What could a guy ask for ? Babes, beer, babes, Van Halen, babes, sand, babes, Heineken, babes , In n' out, babes, Eddie, Alex, Michael, and Sammy! See ya folks!

I am a die-hard Van Halen fan. I've been to three of their concerts, the most recent being their Balance tour in Pheonix, Arizona. 5150 is one of my favorite albums. I say favorite because I love them all. Van Halen is pure genius.

Best album ever created. I loved them before Sammy, but, oh, now they have come into their own. I can listen to the song 5150 10 times in a row and it almost gives me wood. This band is 20 years old! You'd never know...

This is a great album my favorite song is Love Walks In

"love walks in" has got to be one of the great slow songs of all time. with such tunes as "why can t this be love" "summer nights" and " love walks in" it's easy to see how sammy made this band so much more dynamic.

A classic is always remembered. 5150 is an excellent display of musical genius! As a college student when I take a final exam I pop the 5150 disk into my CD player and off I go. Sammy shows his incredible vocal talents and "Dreams" has got to be a Van Halen all time best. I dig all of thier songs. I have all of thier albums and know pretty much all of thier lyrics. Some of the lyrics make you say "Yeah!!! That is how i feel!" Take care fellow Halenites!

Simply Magnificent. You can really tell they were dying to get back on the road. Eddie finally is able to truly display his keyboard talents. Must Have Disc. I give it a 10!!

Musically, this album is pure genius. "Dreams" is truley a masterpiece and it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to make it sound bad, with any assortment of instruments. The lyrics to "Love Walks In" are definitly the coolest(along with Don't Tell Me...) that Sammy has ever come up with.(and for those of you who don't know, the song is about ALIEN ABDUCTIONS, NOT LOVE!) I have only one criticisim of the album, and that is of the electronic drums...ech!! Evidently, Eddie and ALex share my sentiments, because I have read several different articles were they said they wished they had used real drums. Alex is truly one of the best ever(along with John Bonham & Phil Collins) and it is a shame his talents didn't shine through as much on this album. Why can't rock & roll bands come out with albums like this anymore(other than VH of course), ie:songs with melody, harmony, clarity,and feeling, rather than all this GRUNGE CRAP! ie:just copying the familiar sound of Pearl Jam & Nirvana.

"5150" has to be the number one summer album. Just imagine a warm summer night together with friends/girlfriend/boyfriend at the beach and putting on "Summer Nights"! Thats pure magic. And the rest of the album works just as well.

There's nothing better than rocking with "Summer Nights" hanging with the boys and drinking some brew.

David Lee Roth who? Sammy and the boys kick ass on this album. Pure party songs from beginning to end with the exception of a couple of ballads. These songs are still fan favorites at VH concerts.

5150 is simply the best album of all time. I've been listening to it for 10 years, and it continues to thrill me. Every time I hear Dreams I get goosebumps. Un-fucking-believable!!!

5150: Overall a great album! A great solo on "Love walks in", but why didn't the song "5150" or "Top of the World" or "Cabo Wabo" end up on the "Best of" Album....? ..........I guess there's always Best of, Volume II

The best Sammy era album, and the one that most Dave era fans would choose as a favorite. The album is just fun and party and sun and the beach with Eddie's amazing guitar work o'er top. What more do you need?

dreams is the best song ever created.the words are good.the sound is awesome.when sammy hagar came to the show-me center in cape girardeau mo. i was on stage with him. he called me up there.its true. he was awesome .and im only 13.

Just listened to 5150 for the first time in a few years. I was a senior in high school when this album came out. With the exception of the stupid song, "Inside", these tracks are among VH's best.

Eddie has always been there for me and his songs and I would love to thank him. Littledreamer is the one song that will always touch my heart. The song sounds just like my life and my dreams did come ture. THANKS EDDIE
