A very good first impression. Sound quality is a little rough (rumor has it that the recording was done in Sweet's basement). If you overlook that, you'll find the greatness.

Produced by Matthew Sweet on eight-track, at his home. The tapes were passed to Alan McGee, founder of Creation Records, by one of Teenage Fanclub and Velvet Crush seemed on the verge of major success. But the critical acclaim never translated to sales. This is, however, a must-have for anyone seriously into cool melodic guitar pop.
