Comments for Belew, Adrian, Young LionsE-MAIL: matthys@uia.ua.ac.be Though the ensemble may be somewhat inconsistent, this album contains a couple of gems, in Belew's typical enthusiastic and completely original style. Take for instance the intro to the title track with enchanting percussion, the far-out enigmatic "I am what I am" and the heart-tearing "What a legacy we're leaving behind". The Bowie tracks are as good as anything Bowie has produced the last ten years...E-MAIL: brackney@ix.netcom.com "I am what I am" is the best song ever recorded. Period.E-MAIL: RosenElyse Just enough pop and Adrians voice really starts to come around. The (unfortunate) highlight of this album is David Bowie singson "Pretty Pink Rose" and "Gunman". This album was rushed outby Belew in the month or so before he went on Bowie`s "Sound +Vision" tour, hence the Bowie appearences. "Not Alone Anymore"is a cover of the Orbsion lead Travelling Wilbury`s tune, andHeartbeat is taken from King Crimson`s "Beat". YL is uninspiredand the guitar sounds are very artificial.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
