Comments for Vulgar Boatmen, Please Panic

This is a splendid record! Inasmuch as Dale Lawrence and Robert Ray (the two principals of the group) live in different cities (Indianapolis and Gainesville, FL, respectively), you rarely get to hear the two of them sing together in live shows.

great album, but hard as heck to find now -- even the band doesn't have copies to sell!

The album is very good, but I agree with the comment about the live show -- it's incredible, and more energy then the albums might lead you to believe.

I love PLEASE PANIC! This should be re-released. This is my first Boatmen album. I can`t wait to get the other two!

A good album, but the live show kicks its butt.Would have been better if the live band was on it.

I remember the first time I heard this disc I just did not get it. The more I listened to it I realized there is much power and beauty between the notes. Those spaces of silence in the rhythms create anticipation of the sounds of music. These songs are crafted in great rhythms and melodies. I never tire of the space between the notes as I can't wait until the next sound erupts. And no I am not smoking dope.
