i was so excited when this album came out i begged my mom to get this for me i was a teenager with no income at that very moment i played it to death and then played the other two earlier albums to death again ( in the heat... and crimes...) her voice blew me away and i at that time found evil genius and promises in the dark so deep and emotional ( i was a teenager ok!) well any way i was really moved very pop of course but i love it the song precious time was not as pop in terms of time limit it is a long ass song cause of theguitar solo by her hubby neil it was telling of her sick of the goodlife that fame brought her (my opinion) i love it when she sings with herself in songs very trademark on most of her albums you here her voices underneath each other at different octaves ooo scream for pat

Take the four tracks from side one, add Helter Skelter, and you have the perfect Benatar EP of cerebral hard-rock. In terms of vocals, guitars, and songwriting, Fire and Ice and Promises In The Dark remain high points of her career.

Great hard rock record. Gone are the pop stylings of "Crimes of Passion" as Pat and Neil crank up the guitars. The vocals on this album firmly establish Pat as the premier female rock singer of the "rock" era. She soars through "Fire and Ice" gives a steady reading to "Precious Time" and goes for broke on "Helter Skelter". Live performances from this tour are fantastic - if you find a bootleg don''t pass it up.
There are a number of missing Benatar albums...I`ll add the others later.
