Comments for Zappa, Frank, Roxy & Elsewhere

This is more than just a great live double-album. This is PRIMO ZAPPA, so to speak! Throughout all of my Zappa-collection, Roxy is still one of my big favorites. And the irony of it is, at first i thought it was well uh.. just weird. Maybe it''s cos it was the first FZ album i ever bought. I was at that time slightly interested in what i thought was this crackpot avant-garde comedian, but mostly, i was listening to Neil Young (i know: a giant leap huh?). So, upon first hearing Roxy, i shook my head and put it somewhere far away from my CD-player. Later though, I started listening to it over and over again, till finally i guess, Roxy became an addiction! This album is a mindbending collection of caleidoscopic sounds and songs, unvailing a new angle at every listen. From Penguin to Be-Bop Tango, the tunes are magical, the musicianship is incredible. One Mother of an album. And it doesn''t even smell funny! ;-)
Great live double album (on 1 CD) of Zappa`s best technically musical band. This and "You Can`t Do That OnStage Anymore Volume 2" and "One Size Fits All" featuresthis great arrangement.
