Comments for Berlin, Count Three And Pray

The 3rd Berlin album. This album featured the smash #1 hit "Take My Breath Away" from the "Top Gun" movie which starred actor Tom Cruise.

Here Berlin gets some help from Ted Nugent, David Gilmour, and Bob Ezrin. Good 80s pop-rock. The first half of the album is incredible and blazing with enery! The second half just barely floats along up until "Pink and Velvet," which sounds like Terri Nunn singing for Pink Floyd.

The tracks "Pink and Velvet" and "Like Flames" really display Terri Nunn's vocal talent, not to mention the guitar efforts of David Gilmour (on PandV) from PinkFloyd. Really a good album for representation of best of 80's pop.

Berlin go hard rock. A little dissapointing. quite so, actually. The best part about this album is Terri's vocals--"Will I ever Understand You", "Like Flames", and "Heartstrings" show her in top form. Crawford's lyrics, on the other hand, are at their worst. It's no accident that the best song here, "Like Flames", was written by drummer Rob Brill.

It is ironic that the release of this album should mark the best and worst Berlin has to offer. Nunn's vocals are better than they've ever been, but half the band has disappeared. The first 5 songs are some of the strongest material Berlin has ever produced, but the album struggles after that.

This whole album ROCKS!! It's that simple... Nunn's vocal are just amazing!

Years back, there was a faster "remixed" version of "Take My Breath Away" produced. I have been searching for it but have never seen it anywhere? Does anyone know if this remixed version is available for purchase? If so, from where?
