They now have 2 videos out since I posted this album last January. I've been listing to them for 6 years so I'm still trying to get used to their success, but i'm happy. I wish them all the luck! They also told me (via email) that they're going to be re-releasing their old album 'Surprise' in 1996.(Originally released locally on casette only in 1990. It's a bit different from 'Deluxe' but it's still really good. I realize that the e-mail link to them on this page doesnt work. You can reach them now on America Online at 'Eeezra@aol.com'. They check their mail regularly, so drop them a line and let them know what you think! -megan

Better Than Ezra is THE most wonderful band around. The songs on the album are real, and about real things. They make sense. If you don't have Deluxe, I highly recommend it. Surprise (their first album; released only on cassette in '90) will be rereleased sometime in '96. Also, if you ever get a chance to see them live; do!!

The only thing that's good about this album is "Good." I bought the album but was disappointed to find that the rest of it was so-so. I don't really consider the Rembrandts and Deep Blue Something-style to be really anything alternative. Good really stands out, though, and is different. Get the single if you can.

Despite the comment above "good" is not the only good thing about this album. The best song is "Teenager", but "In the Blood" and "Summerhouse" also stand out. "Porcelain" and "This Time Of Year" are also great slower songs.

I think Deluxe is a great buy. The only cd I own that I like more than Deluxe is their new one, entitled "friction, baby". I love all their songs, and think the boys have loads of talent. I realize that their music isn't everyone's style. I also don't hesitate when anyone asks what I listen to, to say, "Better Than Ezra, baby." If you're a big fan of their stuff, don't forget about Surprise (which I still haven't found ANYWHERE), the singles, and Summerhouse (a taping of two concerts in California). It also is nice to catch them on the T.V. and on the radio every once in awhile. Seeing them live is the best experience you could ask for, if you're a fan.

if you''re hungry for something off "surprise", then try "circle of friends" off the "empire records" soundtrack. it is probably one of their best songs.thanx to zon
BTE is from Baton Rouge, La and very big in south Louisianabut they do alot of nationwide touring, especially to collegetowns. It`s great music, with a good balance of upbeat and slower songs. I doubt that any alternative rock fans willdislike the album.
