The Airplane`s third album (See "Takes Off" and "Surrealistic Pillow") Baxter`s certainly pushes the limits of commercially viable Rock, which is how Jack Casady and Paul Kantner, the two band members responsible for much of the Production wanted it to be. After Surrealistic Pillow sold more copies than the world`s population the Airplane managed to kick their producers out of the studio and spent six months pushing different buttons and mixing one of the wierdest albums in history. Each of the tracks is a suite, mostly with the first section being a song and the rest being a total acid jam. My favorite track is "How Suite It Is" the song within being "Watch Her Ride" with an absolutely pounding bass-line from Jack Casady. It`s a wierd record, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Without hesitation, this is the #1 LP/CD in my entire collection. The entire 48 minute trip most definitely does GET YOU THERE ON TIME! Baxters is a Musical/Spiritual catharsis of the R&R democratic brother/sisterhood in action. It is in fact the best trip I have ever had sitting down(although sometimes I do become ambulatory). 11 outa 11.
