**** (5 star scale) Definitely the originators of the music described today as "alternative", whatever the hell that means. I just hear damn fine rock n roll when I listen to these guys. Long live Big Star. --j.teel

This incarnation of Big Star features original members Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens, ably supported by Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer of the Posies. The band gives a freewheeling, raw charm to many Big Star classics, as well as a few inspired, fairly obscure covers.
