Comments for McCartney, Paul, McCartney

McCartney's "home recorded" first effort. He played all the instruments and made the recording at his home studio.

A good album, just a tab bit little uneven.

This is a great first album by Mr. McCartney. Being a musician myself, and having recorded many songs in my garage on a four track, I really appreciate the "roughness" to this album. Maybe I'm Amazed, Teddy Boy, and Junk are some of my favorites. I guess he was really nervous about releasing these songs for it was the first time he hadn't run the songs by John Lennon first....

Momma Miss America, is one of the best instrumentals of all time.

I actually just bought this CD. 1 great track - "Maybe I'm Amazed" 3 good tracks "Junk", "Teddy Boy", and "That Would Be Something." The rest is "muzak to my ears" I can't believe this album was so important, that it forced the postponment of "Let It Be." This is not better than any Beatles album. And for the people telling me to fuck off, Paul was great with the Beatles - that's about it.

Ok, sorry, John I respect your opinion...

Each of the Beatles came out with solo efforts. Good or bad to some ears. "NO" other band/group comes close.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
You are right, although most of the solo material from the exBeatles is nowhere near their Beatles work. (Except for most of John's, half of Pauls and some songs by George and Ringo)
E-MAIL: 1
the solo efforts of the ex-Beatles proves that the sum of the parts equals the whole.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
A very good way to say it ,l .
E-MAIL: Spiderman
But some of the solo songs, like "Imagine", "Band On The Run" and "Instant Karma" is just as good as the Beatles songs.
E-MAIL: 1
yes, these songs were just as good, but you must admit, Spiderman, that the ex-Beatles never really captured the same fire that they had when they were in the band. if they did, it was only a flicker. by the way, my real name is Heather, so that's the name i'll use on this page.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Heather ( a far better name than l) I agree, but the solo stuff is really good too. You should try some of it. Begin with my tips.
E-MAIL: Heather
my old name is kinda dumb, but i like it's ambiguity. i'll start with your tips as soon as i get some money. (kinda strapped for cash, y'know)
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Yeah, I know exactly what THAT feels like....
E-MAIL: Heather
do you have any money i can borrow?(just kidding : )!!
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Yeah, sure i'll send it (just kidding too)
E-MAIL: Heather
i'll be waiting...: )
E-MAIL: Spiderman
You'll be waiting forever, babe !!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
well, if it takes that long...
E-MAIL: Spiderman
What do you work with ???
E-MAIL: Heather
huh?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
You said you awaited your pay: I thought you had a job too.
E-MAIL: Heather
oh! i work for my father. he's the one that pays me. and i take it that you have a job as well. what do you do?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
I work for my father too, atleast in the firm he works in. I have done everything to blueprints to cleaning up a ware- house. In the summer i'm supposed to get a job as a guard.
E-MAIL: Heather
well, that's certainly exciting. especially for a guy named Spiderman. i basically do anything my father sees fit for me to do that benefits him. but this summer, i'll probably get a job as a waitress. woo-hoo!
E-MAIL: Spiderman
WOOO- HOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Song2" by Blur, ever heard it ??? Great song. And the guard job is not quite certain.
E-MAIL: Heather
WOOO-HOOOO!!!!yeah, i've heard it. great song. would they give you a gun at the uncertain guard job?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Sheeeeesh, I don't know YET !!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
just watch where ya point that sucker, ya hear?
E-MAIL: rsuarez@bellsouth.net
the first thought that comes to my mind is how great some of these songs would have been if done with the beatles and their input. "junk" has to be one the prettiest melodies i've heard, and you can hear paul's sadness in his voice. "maybe i'm amazed" is a great song and in it you can hear how artists from billy joel to queen drew their influence from paul the trendsetter. the raw sound quality makes the album sound more like a demo, and sometimes i wish that in the near future paul will put together a boxed set and perhaps re-record some of these gems. maybe live like elton john's live in australia. there's beauty in this mess. shrug.
