a good album, but the b-side of my brave face, flying to my home should have been included. it would raise the rating by one point, at least.

Has anybody heard anything about McCartney's new album. He says that it will be the last "Pop" album from him and George and Ringo is there as well. If anybody knows something else (like title etc.) please put on comments on any McCartney album.

Well, I was wrong about George Harrison being on the album. And why do they play "Young Boy" on the radio if "The World Tonight" is supposed to be the first single. I think it great that Paul was knighted, but why did't George and Ringo get knighted too?????

George and Ringo didn't contribute as much to the world of music as Paul did with their solo efforts, i suppose. at least in the eyes of the royalty. so George isn't on the album at all? well, that's kinda odd considering Ringo is. and "the world tonight" is the first single. then i agree with you: why are they playing "young boy" all the time??

Spidey, if you're going to try a George album, All Things Must Pass is the best one. The first 4 side are full of great (sometimes a little too religious for my taste) songs. The Bangla Desh concert CD is great too - George, Ringo, Dylan and more. For Ringo, definitly get his self titled RINGO album - it's very good. Don't bother with any others of his.

What record id George's latest and when was it released ??? I'll try both "All Things Must Pass" and "Ringo" sometime when I can afford it. First, I have to buy all the Beatles albums and the best John and Paul albums (I have Imagine, Band On The Run, and their collectiond CD:s).

It's easier to name the albums I personally own. I only own "Sgt. Pepper", "Magical Mystery Tour", "Let It Be" and "Past Masters vol.2" . But my mother has lots of records by them too. How about you ???

I have all the CD's and have half on trcord, including some of the old US releases. The HEY JUDE album listed on the Beatles page was a real record: it was my favorite as a kid. Also have the dreaded US Help - 7 songs & soundtrack music much worse than Yellow Submarine. And the US RUBBER SOUL, which has Ive Just Seen A Face and It's Only Love and missing others.

first and 1/2 generation. I'm 30, was born in the mid 60's and knew who the Beatles were as long as I can remember being a fan of music. I remember seeing Yellow Submarine in a movie theater. As for being a collector, some of it is old stuff from my folks, and some of it is that I spend too much money on CDs.

No. I think all new music is boring - there has been nothing innovative in a long time - MTV ruined everything. The only new music I like is new records put out by old favorite artists.

I almost entirely agree with you both. Most of my absolute favourite music is from the 60- 70's and those artists new stuff. But I like some of todays music too: Oasis, Kula Shaker, Suede, Nirvana, REM, U2, Cardigans etc. And I try to keep in touch with the charts, so that I can recognize todays music when I hear it.

i saw your comment on the Oasis page, Spiderman. i don't keep up very well, because i don't get mtv. but thru my friends, i know alot about modern music. the more i know, however, the bigger a waste of time it seems. am i right?

I want to be an artist or work with commercials. But making money on art is almost impossible, and it's hard finding a job about commercial. How can your parents force you to anything, Heather ?? What do you work with, John ?????

I'm unemployed. I'm going to college to get a computer degree - it seems to be the best opportunity for getting a job, computers are a necessity. Yes, making a living off of being an artist seems incredibly hard - you should go to art school, but also minor in something more practical.

i am 115 lbs. i'm not sure what that is in kilos, sorry. my hair is shoulder length and is reddish-brown, and i have blond highlights in it. don't worry though, it looks good. i have lovely coffee-colored eyes. and how about thou, Spiderman? are you one of the blond-haired, blue-eyed, tall Swedish guys? or do you stay in that Spider suit all day? whatever happened to just talking about the albums huh? this reads more like a personal ad. anyway, "flowers in the dirt" happens to be a very good album. mccartney's work with elvis costello produce some real pop gems such as "my brave face" and "that day is done" other pop confections include "figure of eight", "this one", the happy "how many people", and the terrific homage to his father "put it there" (which is one of his best songs ever). this shows a side of mccartney we see when he's hungry to prove he's still got it. not everything on "flowers" works, but as pop albums go, this has a great deal of good songs and you would be pleased to have it in your collection. shrug.

guys don't do the upkeep. today, guys with long hair always have it long, greasy, unwashed, tangled, split ends: nasty. i can't stand that...i like my guys with hair no longer than the Beatles had it in '65. but, i guess as long as you wash it, comb it, trim it, etc, it's all right.

It's just my hair, the lenght doesn't matter. When I cut it shorter (Beatles 65 shoulder length is as short as it gets), it still flys all over the place.

Yeah, some programs. Most of the shows are from the US. Or Britain. We have a lot of shows like "Seinfeld" etc.

Yeah, european television is pretty strange. Few channels but a fair amount of US shows. I saw "Married With Children" overdubbed in German out there. Pretty strange.

I was just watching a news channel today, and they showed a live picture of a big ship stranded off of Norway. I was surprised to see alot of snow in July. Does it snow in Sweden in July?

No, it doesn't. Maybe in the northern parts. I live in Southern Sweden, and we have a hot weather here.

Sorry about that. Stockholm is the only city I've heard of. When I was in England, I found that the rest of the country hates London for the same reason.

Same over here too - though we have lots of big cities. The rest of the country despises New York City, because it's the biggest and has lots to do (and Beatles fans hate it because John died there). Los Angeles is despised too - I hate LA myself.

i don't really hate any city in particular except maybe malaga, new mexico...but that's a story you don't want to hear. us small town folks don't really give a damn about you big city folk...you just think we do.

Well, Gothemburg is what you americans would call a small- town. We have small cities in Sweden. And i actually live a bit outside Gothemburg in a small village with 3,000 citizens called Hyssna, but it's very close to Gothemburg

Ok, sweden is basically woods and lakes and it's quite nice ,actually, nic nature etc., and right now we have very hot weather, about 33 degrees celsius.

And gothemburg means something like the Goths castle in ancient Swedish

i live in the desert...sort of. we have plenty of cactus, and mesquite bushes, etc. it gets to about 100 degrees everyday in the summer...it's nice if you've lived here almost all your life as i have. otherwise, you would have to do lots of adjusting.

So you can handle heat pretty well then ? I can't. I feel ill and stuff when it's too hot...

Well, a little, i would say, but we don't have that much cold weather in Swedena s some think. Some people even say we have polarbears walking down the streets, but our climate is somewhat like Englands

England's climate isn't great. It rains alot & is very cold - (though London can get a nice 70 degree day during the summer). I like rain though, so I guess it's pretty good.

I never said we had a great climate, maybe we have a little better climate than England. Our summers are awesome. And yes, Heather the north of Sweden is cold, but not as cold as Canada. And by the way, weclome back, Johnny boy.

The trip was great. I went with my dad. California is a great place: huge mountains and trees. It's awful coming back east.
