A great album by the world's best performer, but he's getting older and he's looking too far back I'm a real McCartney fan.
E-MAIL: beatles@collector.org
Many fans have seen Paul in concert more than my three times...but it was great! 1. Indianapolis (Feb. 1990) 2. Lexington (April 1990) 3. St. Louis (April 1993) Hey Paul, if you're reading this--DO IT AGAIN!!!! Roger
E-MAIL: beatles@falls
Paul was the greatest musician in the 60's and he still remains to be!!!He is magnificent.
E-MAIL: Beatles923
I am hopelessly devoted to Paul. Out of the Beatles, he is my absolute absolute favorite! He makes wonderful music, and I think he should do more. I LOVE YOU PAUL!
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Most of these songs are great, but he is losing his touch. Also, a very, very silly cover.
E-MAIL: me,xena
Know what guyz? I know you all have heard the rumer about Paul being dead. Well acording to the news paper it might not be a rumer. I know it dosn't make sence but in some ways it dose. This is not a joke and the artical I raed was not old it was a resent paper from the day befor. It said that they have proff that Paul really died in a car crash and that the Paul today is some other guy that they got to act like he was Paul. I will have to scan the artical on here so you guyz can read it I am not making this up! luv ya lots, Xena
E-MAIL: 1
xena, the fake Paul you're referring to is billy campbell. Paul supposedly died in a car crash in nov.66 after running a red light and hitting another car. personally, i think that Paul is alive.
E-MAIL: Xena,hippy princess
I know he is alive, but it's fun to say that he isn't!!!!
E-MAIL: Spiderman
No it isn't. I don't like thinking about it. But Paul is surely alive. The clues( On Sgt.Pepper, Abbey Road etc.) they name are really silly. They don't make sense.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
l, go to the "Plastic Ono Band" at John Lennon. There you will find my e-mail address. E-mail your address to mine.
E-MAIL: Heather (1)
Spiderman, i really would like to be able to email my address to you(i sincerly like knowing a Beatles fan who actually knows something about them, other than that they "rocked"), but i honestly don't know what my address is. i don't have a server or something. how do you get one? (i feel like such an idiot).
E-MAIL: Heather
as soon as i get an address, or find out my own, you'll be among the first to know, Spiderman. until then, we'll have to talk about the Beatles and ex-Beatles here.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
One way of getting an E-mail address is going to www.hotmail.com , that's what I did. It's for free too and it's rather easy. I suggest you try that, and if you have anything to ask put a comment here!!!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
i'd like to get an address, but certain people will not allow it. what solo album should i start with first?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Ah, you mean your PARENTS!!! Start with "imagine". One warning about that album though: "How Do You Sleep" is a real nasty song about Paul. Tell your parents it's for free. And the E-mail never goes to your computer, if you get a hotmail address. It is stored at www.hotmail.com. You go to that site, get a address, and a password. Everytime you want to see your "Letterbox" you first write your name, then your password. PRESTO !!!!! You can read all your mail.
E-MAIL: Heather
would my parents even know about it if i don't tell them? if so, consider me emailing!! as for "imagine", was John writing nasty songs about Paul because of the lawsuit? why doesn't Paul write nasty songs about Michael Jackson?(j/k)!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
or say i wanted to email someone. would i have to go to the hotmail site to do that too?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
No. Do you have Netscape or Internet Explorer ??
E-MAIL: Spiderman
I don't think they would know it. Why don't they let you ????
E-MAIL: Xena,hippy princess
You two are soo funny! Spiderman, lighten up! you take every thing I say so personally! But thats ok I still love you.E-mail me some time. jdillon@sisna.com
E-MAIL: Heather
i have netscape. my parents will not let me do the email thing because they believe that i will meet a weirdo who will stalk me, and i will end up getting killed. i obviously do not agree with this theory. i was hoping i could get an address at hotmail and there would be no way my parents could find out. but if i don't have to go to the site to email, then they might.
E-MAIL: Heather
and xena, why are we so funny???
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Heather, I assure you that i'm not a weirdo. And I don't know much about computers anyway. And Sweden is a very long way from New Mexico, so your parents don't have to worry about me stalking you !!!!!!!!! Really caring parents you have .
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Xena, do i??? Ok, i'll e-mail you as soon as i figure out just how !!!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
i know very well that you won't stalk me. any person who knows so much about the Beatles and the solo works of guys like Paul McCartney are obviously not weirdos. still, they are afraid that i will end up face down in a ditch. oh well. do you think they'd find out if i got a email address from the service you have? and how exactly do you email if it doesnt even go to your computer???
E-MAIL: Spiderman
They wouldn't find out. It is stored on the server. But i E-mail from the computer, my fathers address.
E-MAIL: Heather
so you have 2 addresses? i suppose i'll get an address then. why not?
E-MAIL: Heather
what has happened to xena?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
After I have heard "Young Boy" i regret ever saying that he's losing his touch. I take that back. And as for why John wrote "How Do You Sleep" because Paul attacked John on the song "Too Many People" on the "Ram" album.
E-MAIL: 1
well, Spiderman, do you know the root of all the problems John and Paul were having?? was it Paul's lawsuit for rights to the songs or whatnot?
E-MAIL: Heather
wrong name up there : )
E-MAIL: Spiderman
No, I don't really know. I guess they just were tired of each other. The Beatles last years weren't exactly merry.
E-MAIL: Heather
i know that. the poor guys had been trapped together for ten years. although they made excellent music together, being cooped up together like that must have been so taxing!!!
E-MAIL: Spiderman
I guess four such talented musicians just couldn't be in a group too long. They had to see what they could do themselves.
E-MAIL: Heather
i never really thought of it like that. interesting view, Spiderman: )
E-MAIL: me,xena
Don't worry I'm still here:) Ok, now what are we talking about? Oh yes, why the beatles split up. Well most of it was that they all had gotten so cocky that they couldn't stand each other any more, especially John and Paul. Not that any one can blame them.I mean think about it. Everyone loved them !They just let it go to their heads. Alot of people blame Yoko but it wasn't just her. They all were being selfish.Yeah some of it may have been Yoko but she didn't make them do anything they didn't wan't too. The one thing that bugged Paul the most about Yoko was that she consiterd herself the fifth beatle, and he just didn't like that every much. Well I just think it's sad that it happend the way it did, with them all fighting like that, but atleast they made up before John died. Well I better go , Love you more today then yesterday but not as much as tomorrow:)
E-MAIL: Heather
bye, guys...
E-MAIL: Me,Xena
Heather, where are you going!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Come back!!!!!!!!!!!!1
E-MAIL: Heather
email me, xena. gemini49@hotmail.com!!
E-MAIL: john.com
I don't think George or Ringo were selfish. George in particular got screwed. Paul only allowed him one song per album side, and by the late 60's, his stuff was just as good as John and Paul. Thats why All Things Must Pass is such a great album: alot of those songs were automatically rejected from Beatles albums because his quota was reached. Not Guiltyis better than at least 3/4ths of the White Album. George's Abbey Road songs are 2 of the best on the album. If I were him, I'd want to leave. As for Ringo, I'VE GOT A FEELING that he didn't want the split: though it was a drag being around the tense bickering all the time. He had a single called "Early 1970": the lyrics are about wanting to play with John, Paul, and George again.
E-MAIL: Heather
the whole breakup was bound to happen at some point, i think we all agree on that. but Johnny, you seem to have something against Paul, unless it's just my imagination. also, what percent of the tension do you think was created just by Yoko hanging around??
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Yeah, it wasn't Paul's fault. One of the big reasons why John wanted to quit was that Paul was taking over a band that once belonged to John. But since Paul was so productive and John was heavily using drugs, it was bound to happen. And Epstein dying didn't make things better. But, like I said: I think they needed to break up, to see what they could do by themselves. They had outgrown the group.
E-MAIL: Heather
and Yoko didn't help anything. i know, i know, no one thinks she broke up the band singlehandedly, but i believe she had a part in it. John was paying more attention to her than to the band, and eventually he lost interest almost altogether. Yoko did not help anything. however, i am not a "Yoko-hater".
E-MAIL: Spiderman
That's exactly what I think too.
E-MAIL: john.com
Paul was a major part of it regardless of my opinion of him - He took over to the annoyance of the others, where he carefully crafted his songs at the expense of others - there are many stories about how he would make them do hundreds of takes of Ob La Di Ob La Da and Maxwell's Silver Hammer before doing others. Ringo & George took week long vacations because they were fed up with his bossiness: he even secretly erased Ringo off some of his White Album songs and recorded his own drum parts. Then there was Eastman / Klein fiasco. And technically, it was Paul who announced the split: he was the one that said "I quit" after a year of talking John into not doing it. Paul is definitly more responsible compared to George and Ringo. I don't think Yoko had anything to do with the breakup at all: John insisted that she came to the recording studio. He was thinking of leaving even before they met. She was connected with his new ideas. As you said, in the end it was bound to happen, but it mostly a combination of Paul being a prick, John's disinterest, and George & Ringo getting pushed aside.
E-MAIL: john.com
Sorry for the harsh last sentence, but I still think that, even though they were growing apart, Paul still had a bit more of a role in it than the others.
E-MAIL: Heather
John, how can you say that Yoko being there didn't cause any tension? it did! i absolutely believe she added to the momentum of the breakup. how could she not, when you yourself say that John insisted on having her at the studio? this shows that he was already moving away from the band, even if it was small in the beginning. and Paul was a prick in the end, i'm not disagreeing with you there.
E-MAIL: john.com
That's it though: John caused the tension, not Yoko. If John would have insisted on Cynthia being in the studio all the time, it would have caused tension - and everyone liked Cindy. Paul eventually forced Linda on everyone too (to show up J&Y) and that was trouble too.
E-MAIL: Heather
okay, Johnny. you got me there. do you think forcing Yoko on them was a way of distancing himself from the others, kind of preliminary to the breakup?
E-MAIL: me,xena
well, john was thinking about leaving long before the band split , even before Yoko. But if you ask me john never would never made it with out Paul. Him and his band really didn't know anything about music , yeah some of them could read it but john couldn't. all he could do was play the music he couldn't read or write it till Paul came along and showed him how. and thats not a bunch of bull, I read it in a John Lennon book.
E-MAIL: john.com
Well, xena - I agree with the first part of what you said - he was distancing himself - and had thoughts of leaving before Sgt. Pepper. But, as for being nothing without Paul, many rock musicians never had musical training - so that doesn't hold. I like John's solo career much better than Paul's. Even if John didn't have musical training, his lyrics were amazing: deep, personable, and reflective. Paul could only write pop songs (with a few exceptions) - but could never have written anything like "Imagine,""Across The Universe" etc.
E-MAIL: me xena
he still never would have made it! the beatles were a big part of john's life and the whole reason for his success! and paul had alot to do with the beatles success! so most likely john never would have made it into the music bisness with out paul! and another thing! paul was not a prick! and it's not that he couldn't write songs like john, he just had his own style, thats all! and if john hadn't been spending all of his time with yoko geting high paul wouldn't have had to take over the band! Ok I think I have said enough for tonight, see ya later, Xena
E-MAIL: john.com
John would have been nothing w/o Paul, huh? The Beatles evolved out of the Quarreymen, who were John's group - John invited Paul to play with them. And the Beatles were'nt everything to John. They were at first before the popularity - he always said that the Beatles were at their best in Germany and at the Cavern Club. By the time of their fame, suits, haircuts, movies, and 1/2 hour concerts drowned out by screaming girls, he became disillusioned with the Beatles. That's why he started writing songs looking for identity and answers - Help, Strawberry Fields, etc. If anything, the Beatles were everything to Paul, because of the control he took. As for Paul being a prick, just read books and and quotes from George and Ringo about the Beatles from Magical Mystery Tour onward. The prick comment speaks for itself.
E-MAIL: Heather
i wish there was a nicer word for prick. how about unnice man?
E-MAIL: john.com
OK. fair enough - Paul was an unnice man.
E-MAIL: Heather
ah, much better. thank you. you just don't know the stress i go through when i see Paul being called a prick. however, i can deal with this new term much better. and what about John? what is he?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
About an equally unnice man as you both think Paul was. About Paul being a "prick": He felt that he never got enough credit from the fans for what he did. Everybody thinks John was the main force behind Pepper, Abbey Road, etc., but he wasn't. It was Paul. The problem was about the same as George's and Ringo', but in a bigger scale. But the thing was, when George made a song, he always got all the credit for it. If Paul made a song, he always got only half the credit, even if he had written it entirely by him self. That's why he played all those Beatles songs on the concerts abou 1990 and 1993. He wanted to say: I did those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
E-MAIL: john.com
Of course Paul was behind the later albums - lots of great stuff too - I said above that John was losing interest. The songwriting credits were an agreement from when they were teenage friends. I personally think it's easy to tell the difference between John's songs and Paul's. By the "Hard Days Night" album, they were writing separatly for the most part. The unnice man comment only refers to his behind the scenes actions between 1967-1971. I will never say he was a no talent.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
OK, it's easy to hear what is John's and Paul's stuff now, nut people didn't really know that much then. One of the big reasons why we can hear what is Paul's or John's is because we can compare with their solo stuff, that sounds VERY much alike their late Beatles stuff if you come to think about it (Most of it anyways). And the rest of the Beatles wasn't very nice either (Maybe Ringo, but he never had any real opinions) Point out an example of Paul being "unnice" for me, please.
E-MAIL: Heather
i'll give it a shot...how about 50,000 takes of "ob-la-di, ob-la-da" before doing any other songs? how about setting up a "quota" for George's material? and that whole apple thing with Linda's dad or uncle and such. Paul could be unnice, just like John could. there was just a lot of tension between the Beatles, plain and simple.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
You're right. Let's stop blaming Paul, or John, or whoever we want to blame. Let's just remember the good stuff they made and enjoy it.
E-MAIL: Heather
that's what i've wanted the whole time. let's just stop fighting and such. i have an idea, let's all quote our favorite Beatle quote! mine is the "bigger than Jesus" one.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Mine would be the one about "Rattle with your jewelry".
E-MAIL: Heather
ah, yes! a fine choice it is, Spiderman. where were the Beatles when John said that? at the royal variety show?
E-MAIL: john.com
"I got a hole in me pocket", "come in number 7, your time is up."
E-MAIL: Heather
i never understood that last comment. what is he talking about??
E-MAIL: john.com
It's in Hard Days Night, when Ringo goes off on his own. He walks along the Thames, sees a rowing team in the river, and "distracts" them:->
E-MAIL: Heather
yeah, i know that. but why is it funny? would i have to be British?
E-MAIL: john.com
No, he distracted them, and the boat capsized because of it:->
E-MAIL: Heather
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
E-MAIL: Heather
my favorite is the whole train bit. "who's that little old man?" "well, he's very clean, isn't he?" "if you've lost him, i'll murder ya!": )
E-MAIL: john.com
Wilfred Brambell (Paul's grandfather) was hysterical overall - he was my favorite actor in the movie.
E-MAIL: Heather
he and Ringo! Ringo was fantastic. out of the Beatles, he was the best.
E-MAIL: me,xena
Ringo was good but a little weak in some places. My favorit quote is in help and john says" Only me and Paul know we're here" and then gourge says," I know we're here."
E-MAIL: Heather
wrong movie, honey. we're discussing AHDN. what do you think of that one?
E-MAIL: john.com
"come in miss Xena, you're time is up"
E-MAIL: me,Xena
Ok,ok,don't hate me cause I'm stupid. My fav in hard days night is all of it. yes the whole entire thing:) I love it all! sorry I missed my -Q- Luv ya lots Xena

E-MAIL: Spiderman
OK, let's talk about HOCKEY again !!! I hate the idea of Hartford being moved to Carolina. They know nothing about hockey there.
E-MAIL: Heather
no, no, no! no hockey!! how about something else. hmmm...i know. what is everybody's sign? i'm a gemini.
E-MAIL: Rainbow
i am a piecis (or however you spell it)
E-MAIL: harmony
i'm a virgo:)
E-MAIL: Spiderman
I'm a scorpion, why ????
E-MAIL: Heather
i don't know. conversation i guess.
E-MAIL: john.com
Yes, I hate Hartford moving too. They had problems though. 1. The city has a population of only 100,000. 2. They never drew good crowds except ---- 3. Hartford is 2 hours from New York City & 1 1/2 hours from Boston - there are more Rangers & Bruins fans in Hartford than Whalers fans. I still think it's sucks. Edmonton is going to be next.
E-MAIL: john.com
I learned how to type the Hartford Whalers logo on the computer| }3
E-MAIL: harmony
john, what dose that have to do anything?!?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Yeah, but why Carolina ??? They don't know anything about hockey. And Heather, you'll soon have a hockey team in NM too, trust me. By the way, there's a documentary about Roswell on the telly today. Any chance you're in it ?? :)
E-MAIL: Heather
i wish. i'm just looking to get my big break and be a *star*....sigh. but alas, no. i won't be in it. sniff. [we do have the new mexico scorpions...not nhl. i don't think it's a good idea at all. what the hell do we know about hockey? it's hot all year round.]
E-MAIL: john.com
I don't know why. North Carolina has a minor league team & it draws fairly. It's not too far from Nashville though, and they're going to have a new team in a couple of years. The only thing I like is that they're going to realign the divisions again - to 6 divisions, and the Penguins are moving back to an east division with New Jersey, both New Yorks and Philadelphia. I'll be able to see them more often again. --- then again, the Islanders are having ownership problems & might move at some point too.
E-MAIL: Heather
islanders? that's a stupid name.
E-MAIL: john.com
It's not a great name, but they do play on Long Island.
E-MAIL: john.com
Maybe they could move to New Mexico & become the Deserters.
E-MAIL: Heather
that's even dumber. deserters playing ice hockey.
E-MAIL: john.com
What name would you give a New Mexican hockey team - something to do with state history & heritage that would also fit hockey.
E-MAIL: Heather
the zias. dammit, i don't know. how about the scorpions? but lets be realistic. a good name would be the "will-never-ever-make-it-to-the-stanley-cup-playoffs".
E-MAIL: Spiderman
That name would be great ! Since i hate all the teams stationed where people don't know hockey i hope that if New Mexiko ever gets a team, that they will do poorly (nothing perdsonal, Heather )
E-MAIL: john.com
That means you hate the whole league except for 3 or 4 cities.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
No, maybe about 10-11 cities.
E-MAIL: john.com
Well, let's see: New York (probably not counting New Jersey & Long Island), Montreal, Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottowa. That's 10. Maybes are Philadelphia & Buffalo. Everywhere else knows nothing (though my favorite team is a city that knows nothing)
E-MAIL: Heather
i would want them to suck too, Spiderman. i don't want a New Mexico hockey team. that's ridiculous.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Yep, it would be totaly ridiculous. The teams that I hate are: Anaheim, Dallas, Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
And Nashville.
E-MAIL: harmony
not hocky agin! please!!!!!!!!
E-MAIL: rainbow
do you guyz like lacrosse?
E-MAIL: Spiderman
What's that ?
E-MAIL: john.com
You forgot Columbus, Ohio and Atlanta (both getting teams again by the year 2000. Lacrosse is a tiny bit similar to soccer (oops, football) and hockey in that teams face against each other to try & score goals. It's played with a long sting with a net at the end of it. I'm not crazy about it myself.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Sounds dull. Atlanta had a team a while ago, so thgey're OK.
E-MAIL: john.com
But they lost the team partly due to lack of interest. They moved to Calgary: a U.S. based team moved to Canada. I'll bet you $1,000,000 that a U.S. team will never relocate to Canada again.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
I agree. Hamilton was looking for a new team, but they did'nt stand a chance.
E-MAIL: john.com
I was in Hamilton, it was a nice place. The reason Hamilton will never get a team is because of Buffalo. Buffalo is 60 miles from Hamilton and is on the border. The Sabers draw alot of fans from that part of Canada, and will not allow a team in Hamilton for fear of losing fan base. Hamilton is very close to Toronto too.
E-MAIL: Heather
yawn.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
It's mostly because of the dough. Sorry, Heather do we bore you. Now u know how it feels for me when you talk about baseball.(hehehe)JJ
E-MAIL: john.com
Ha Ha Ha - money does have alot to do with it.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
In my opinion it has everything to do with it, and that really sucks. By the way, has Heather left us now ??
E-MAIL: john.com
I don't know. I'm leaving pretty soon. I'm going to California for 2 1/2 weeks. Can't wait.
E-MAIL: Spiderman
That sounds like fun ! Doing what ?
E-MAIL: john.com
A few days in San Francisco, including a concert with ex-Grateful Dead members, and then I'm going to hike in a few national parks. I'm looking forward to it
E-MAIL: Spiderman
Will you be alone, with buddies or some girl ?
