Comments for Nova, Aldo, Blood On The Bricks

This is my least-favorite Aldo Nova record. It sounds too much like a Bon Jovi recording.

Billy Falcon was also under Jon's Jambco label.

The lyrics in this album are some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. They rank right up there with Def Leppard.

It`s the best album of Nova and the songs like Someday and Hey Ronnie are the BEST

It's Nova's best album no doubt even if it sounds jovish (I don't like BJ). About the Leppard comments, you should take a listen to their latest cd, Slang. It isn't the tin sound for teens anymore. They are very mature with their lyrics now, and the album doesn't suck like Adrenalize. Keep rockin'!

IF THE RECORD SOUNDS TOO MUCH LIKE A BON JOVI ALBUM, THEN THIS OBVIOUSLY MEANS THAT IT IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN' EXCELLENT!

"Medicine Man" is one of Aldo Nova's best songs. Too bad the others on this album aren't much good.

After years of blowing this CD off, I took it from the back of the collection and gave it a spin. The result? It sounds better than I ever thought. "Medicine Man" has a great groove. As a whole, the CD has a certain groove that is sorely missed from today's music scene. The lyrics may not have the most meaning to them, but the best rock n'roll songs never have to.

This is the only Aldo Nova cd I have. It rocks, love the songs Blood On The Bricks, Modern World and Someday.

Ahh...Aldo Nova... When music was actually good. I can still remember Aldo coming down in the copter in the "Fantasy" video and then lighting it up! When MTV actually meant MUSIC television and not one garbage show after the other. As for the Leppard comments, Slang reaks to the core of center of the earth. They made a feable attempt at a modern day grunge band. Bad idea. Stick to what works. Leppard is Photograph, Animal, Rock of Ages...catch my drift? 80's Forever!

A decent rock collection, especially if you like Bon Jovi. Kind of Aldo Nova "lite" compared to his first two efforts. This album is calculated formula Bon Jovi and never gives you that over-the-top-kick-butt-free-wheeling feeling.
The first (and only) recording available on Jon BonJovi`s now-defunctrecord company, Jambco. Aldo and Jon have been close associates for sometime - Jon`s relatives Tony and Barry Bongiovi both assisted with the mixing and engineering of Aldo`s "Subject" album in 1983 at the Power Station in NYC, where Jon often hung out. This alliance promted Aldo Nova to record "Blood On The Bricks", specifically, after he was invitedto jam with BonJovi on stage in 1990, thus ending Aldo`s six-year hiatus. The resulting record demonstrates many tendencies of BonJovi`s style (9/10 songs were co-wrote by him). This provided a notablechange in Aldo Nova`s style. It can be ascertained that one`s opinion of "Blood On The Bricks" depends on their opinion of BonJovi`s musical style. It is very apparent in this record.

Aldo, was and is one of the best guitar players and song writers to ever hit the music world!! I love each and every thing i find from this guy, from the self titled album to Nova's Dream, and his work with other people in the industry.....if you haven't heard Saints and Sinners , please check out their only album, Aldo's unmistakable guitar playing is all over as well as the Bon Jovi/Aldo Nova hybrid lyrical influence....and if you've ever heard the demo version of Mr. Big Time, the song jon Bon Jovi performed on The Armageddon Soundtrack, he still has that fire buring inside that makes him his own brand of music.......now if someone could just tell him, I want to write music with him......that would be way cool.... Arthur
