One million times better than Voices Carry. This is perfect, over-produced pop heaven!

This is a truly great record. I don't agree it's over-produced. The songs are very direct and communicative and the arrangements just add to the feeling. Aimee's developing a bit of a "wronged genius, cheated by the biz" persona which is a shame. Forget all the business stuff, she's great and should be cherished!

An album of guts, integrity and soul.

My all-time favorite album. Each and every one of these songs is amazingly heartfelt. I am constantly heartbroken at the sound of Aimee Mann's voice singing "but happiness, I must admit, I don't have" in Long Gone Buddy. Exceptional.

This is the best album every recorded in Pop history. Heartfelt, emotional, therapeutic, sensational. This album should've done so much more than it did. It's too bad the record company gave up on such a brillant album. Definately Aimee at her best. No matter how many times I hear it, I never get sick of any song on this album. A group the got better with each album, but a record company who gave up after the first.

A desert island disc. Truly, one of the best (and most underappreciated) albums in pop history. Aimee's gift for weaving words together comes out most clearly on this album, on 'Other End' and 'Everything's Different Now'. No collection of 80's pop music is complete without this one.

This album has always sparked emotions when I listen to it. I listen to three of its songs repeatedly when I write my novels. "R.I.P. in Heaven", "Why Must I?", and "Believed You Were Lucky" keep angst flowing through me which feeds my writing.

If anyone wants to hear about the making of this record I'd be happy to communicate with them. I am Robert Holmes the guitarist with the group. I've been online for about 3 days. Frankly I didn't know anyone cared !

Everything's Different Now is truly one of the top albums of all times. Aimee's voice is beautifully expressive, as is the instrumentation. All the songs have a great flow; this is one of my favorite travelling tapes and my 14-year old daughter loves it as well. Thanks Aimee and band- I will always dig this album and the new stuff is great, too.

a truly exceptional album. i have been listening to it for 12 years now and i still feel the same about it. the most angst-ridden album ever made. and yet incredibly sincere. it still moves me.

A true lost classic. Why are there no people with vision and a semblence of taste at most record companies?

Everything's Different Now is an absolute essential, particularly for anyone experiencing the pain of a breakup or going through divorce: "So long and sorry darling/ I was counting to forever/ and never even got to ten" That just about says it all, doesn't it? (I've been there). The rest of the album is loaded with any number of graceful, piercing lyrics , all done up in perfect-pop music melodies. This will always be one of my most cherished albums.

'Everything's Different Now' spoke to me in a very particular way, but then each of Aimie's albums has done that. I agree it's probably the best, but rather for the relative simplicity of it's production; almost all albums in the eighties suffered from over production. Part of this albums charm is it's simplicity. The songs of course have never been bettered. I'm English, with very English sensibilities and Aimee reached me with these songs which have a universal beauty. I'll never forget the first time i heard it... and i've introduced Aimee to more people than I can remember with this album. Give it to anyone under 25 in a break up situation. It's like balm!

Simply the best album ever recorded !!! I broke up with my girlfriend a few months before buying this album, secondhand, for only £2.50 on tape. I played it continuously during the autumn and winter of 1993/1994, and each time I always seemed to find something new in the album. ''Why must I take it so hard, this time?'' Lyrics like this seemed to make sense.
