This is one of my favorite albums. I saw the New Bohemians twice in Michigan. I am from Dallas (Oak Cliff), and for some reason "Air of December" reminds me of Dallas and being in Dallas.

It's a total shame that more people didn't hook into this album or this band. They are all truly amazingly talented. Edie knows how to paint amazing emotional pictures with her lyrics and voice. Kenny Withrow (the guitarist) is AWESOME. If you don't own this album, BUY IT NOW! I have been listening to it for years and NEVER get sick of it. I have my wife and all of my friends totally hooked. Get all of her albums! Find bootlegs of her band "The Slip". It's hard to find enough words to praise this album and the New Bohemians. They are such a three-dimensional band, covering such a beautiful spectrum of emotional and muscial territories.

I discovered Edie again when I remembered her beatiful music this morning... I listened Edie for the first time in 1988 when I was in the army, her songs provided me a magical tour in my mind! Hopefully I will find her CD in Brazil.

Edie Brickell is releasing a cd with The Slip soon! I have been a die-hard fan since 1988. Love the New Bohemians! Kenny rules!

I love the new bohemains' record goad much better but this record manages to show what talent the new bohemians have even though a lot of session musicians palyed on the record. Kenny's guitar solo in What I Am sounds like somebody talking. New bohemians trurly are the most underated band but they get their dues because they are the ones who started doing alternative rock. When this record and goad came out alternative rock wasn't even heard of and woudln't be until '94. they were ahead of their time. also the slip record willbe released. to find more out go to WWW.bodyofwater.com and click on message board. That site is the best new bohemians site around.

I love tne new bohemains' record goad better than this one but this reocrd still manages to show the talent new bohemians had even though a lot of session musicians played on the reocrd. Kenny's guitar solo on What I Am sounds like someone talking. They are the most underated band but will get their dues for having started the genere alternative rock. When this record and goad came out alternative rock wasn't heard of and wouldn't be until '94. I highly recomend this record. Also the slip is coming out and to find out when check out www.bodyofwater.com and then click on message board. This is the best new bohemians site around

reminding me so much of summer strawberries i stop for a moment and get lost inside the swril of your emotions wondering what it would be like to return to your divine *circle* and just be again, just for a moment...

I love Edies style of music, but I have to say without a doubt the best album is 'Shooting Rubber Bands at the Moon', followed by 'Ghost of a Dog' and 'Picture Perfect Morning' nice tough with the accordian in this track.

I used to have a New Bohemians T-shirt that looked like the shooting rubber bands at the stars album. It was lost with everything else that I owned in a fire that destroyed my home a few years ago. I have since looked for another. I even wrote to Geffen records and received no reply. If anyone knows where I could get one, please write to C.M. Laws at P.O. Box 1707 Jay, OK 74346. I would be ever so greatful. I am the biggest Edie Brickell and New Bohemians fan. I have every album, but mourn over my T-shirt.

First heard Edie & New B''s on short wave radio one night in Nigeria. Was longing for American Rock and Hard Rain slid out thru the static: Bob Dylan, dynamite players and this amazing lady singer. I locked the frequency and found it night after night: KUSW commercial shortwave out of Magna, Utah. An announcer mentioned her name, New B''s and Born on 4th album. Stopped in London on my way home to Montana and bought Ghost of a Dog; became enchanted; now disillusioned. No more: job in Nigeria; KUSW playing Rock; New B''s; Edie!! Life is hard.
Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars is the first album by Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. It stands as a refreshing infusion to the late 1980`s, a period marked by massive hype of garbage far less worthy than this. "What I Am" was a US number-six single by March of 1989, and it remains one of the most distinctive hits of the period. In fact, the whole album is distinctive in its open approach to offbeat lyrics and concepts.

I looked up this page because the guitarist's style and sound has an Eric Johnson vibe to it...amazing. When I first wore out the S.R.B.A.T.S. CD I had never heard EJ. Now that I just downloaded the S.R.B.A.T.S. from Kazaa...I am listening to the guitar in a new light...Been a fan of the New B's since about '91 - 92'. thanks Kenny
