Comments for Sanders, Ed, Truck Stop

E-MAIL: raoul@soca.com
This is a great album. It''s hilarious. It''s great poetry. Ed''s other solo album ("Beer Cans on the Moon") is also great. I''d love see both of these albums remastered and rereleased on CD
Ed Sanders, hippie/Yippie/counter cultural journalist & musician recorded this one in the late sixties. Sanders was well-known for his involvement with "The Fugs", one of the finest bunch of poet/rabble rouser/musicians of that era. This is a very rare album that I have only on bootleg tape copy.

This album is so memorable that my former college roomate of 30 years ago mentioned it in a phone converstion today, which led me to this site. If you're not politically aware, you'll miss out on a lot of the humor. Anyone that becomes aware of this on cd, LET ME KNOW!!!

I listened to this album when it came out in 1970. I was 15 and living in Lake Charles, LA. Sanders captured the essence of redneck mentality, and saved me from the frustration of living in a redneck town. Another great piece that has a similar effect is "Hey Hey Redneck" by Pacific Gas and Electric.

Ditto to all high praise from other interested parties. This is some of the funniest stuff ever!!! I lost my pirated copy of Truck Stop, years ago. If anyone knows where i can find Truck Stop or even just a cut of "The Ballad of johnny Piss-off", PLEASE let me know!!!!
