Comments for Throbbing Gristle, Heathen Earth

Throbbing Gristle (T.G.) are the orginiators of "Industrial" music.Their work still remains "new", "fresh" and listenable. This albumis a live recording done as a single performance in a studio.A fact that amazes me every time I listen to this album. Some of the main techniques T.G. use are instrument delays, synths,loops and general repition.They Create a very "atmospheric" and set definiate "moods" withtheir songs. Many of the songs are atypical "normal" music, because many songs do not have distinctive melodies, but generate more of an "atmosphere". Most songs do have distinctive rythms often somewhat mecanistic.This album is generaly not very harsh though. I think it would be morecomparative I think to today`s (mid 90`s) dark ambianent.This is a great album it breaks down many conceptions of howpop music has to be. It`s incredibley paradim shifting.
