Comments for Bloom, Luka, RiversideE-MAIL: csg419@wing.rug.nl (Andre Engels) Not his debut, but it is his first album to have any success. He made four albums before, most under his real name (Barry Moore). His pseudonym, by the way, comes from the song 'Luka' by Suzanne Vega and the last name (Bloom) of the main personage of 'Ulysses'.E-MAIL: c1lconne@compapp.dcu.ie This is an excellent album, as I learned when subjected to it regularly by my flatmate Ciara. To her, Luka is God! Favourites among the tracks include "An Irishman in Chinatown"...("just one little kiss...ah go on!). This has a special relevence to Ciara, of course, who recently saw him in concert in Dublin and enjoyed it very much. Luka's a master with the guitar - very expressive - and an undoubtedly talented songwriter also. An altogether enjoyable album.E-MAIL: c1lconne@compapp.dcu.ie Hi I'm Ciara, the afore mentioned flat-mate. I love this album for its light heartedness. I marginally prefer the album "Turf". Both make very pleasant listening but the relative seriousness of "Turf" gives it an extra dimension. My favourite songs from Riverside are "The man is alive", "Over the moon" , "Delirious", "Hudson Lady" and "The Irishman in Chinatown" I was upset to hear a rumour that Luka had been dropped from Warner. Any comments? if it's true, then are these people complete losers or what? But then again, they dropped Van Morrison and what a mistake that was! Bloody philistines!E-MAIL: SuzannahBilly@Sympatico.ca Luka: You couldn''t have come at a better time - cheers Very solid album. Especially notable are "The Man Is Alive"and "Delirious." This album is a little rougher than "TheAcoustic Motorbike" but nonetheless well written and performed.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
