Terrific album! Hard driven on one thrack , smooth and silky on the next! Shirley Manson has a fantastically diverse voice. She can sound seductive one moment and psychotic the next. Thanx to Grabage for a new addition to my list of faves!

I love garbage. I like the duality of Manson's voice. She can be sultry and sexy one moment and another send it back at you with the force of a sledge hammer. I like the dark undertones,(overtones) but I wonder how much is that acting and how much is it her soul shining through. Overall I think the band is going do great. It just might take a little time for people to get adjusted.

did anyone else think that their radio had broken when the satrt of supervixen started? it really confused me. oh well! still a great album!!!

Their album is the baddest of them all. Delivering an edge to alternative that has been needed now for some time. A truly must buy as it is one of the best original types of music out there. Do not pass this one up. Shirley Manson's voice is sooooo pleasing and seductive, any man who has heard it knows what I am talking about! The lyrics and themes are also very diverse and entertaining with music and rythyms to quicken your pulse or help you relax. Hypnotic and alluring, again, a definite MUST HAVE!

Shirley Manson and Butch Vig have united to create an interesting, deverse project that blends the aspects of a post-grunge sound with the sampled, trip-hop, dance-cut beat, that would be most accustomed at a Rave. I must say that the group (more specifically Manson) is as seductive live as they are on their deput. Although the album is being heavily endorsed, promoted and milked for all it's worth (corparate acts which simply leaves a bad taste in my mouth)it should be appreciated for what it is and not who and how much it is. P.S. a great album to make love to.

Shirley Manson... oohhhh!!!!... what a girl! Her voice's the best I've heard so far, A MUST BUY! So go buy it!!!! No really, a new style of music, not alternative...no, it's...indescriptible! Oh yeah a 10/10 album, without any thinking! The best song is "NOT MY IDEA"...it's my idea...hahaha!

This album is one of the few alternative classics. Songs ranging from the rockiness of "Only Happy When It Rains", dance-type-music of "Stupid Girl" and "Queer" right down to the heaviness of "Vow". Shirley Manson does have quite a great voice. My only complaint is the rest of the band seems to be mainly samples and computers. Great album, though.

Yes, it is an excellent album, but please don't call Angelfish "Shirley's first band"! She was in the excellent Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie before she and three other members of that band formed Angelfish. It was then she was spotted by Vig and, well, you know the rest. The full effect of this cd became apparent one day to me as I was writing the lyrics to "Heaven is Wide" in my notebook in school. If you haven't yet, one night you must turn out all of your lights in your room, lay on your bed and just absorb this CD. Shirley will mesmerize with her voice and take you on an emotional roller coaster as the music sets the tone for her message, whether it's vengeful or manic-depressive.

This first album from Garbage is simply brilliant and each song is good enough to be instantly recognisable. Shirley's beautifully dark voice will spellbind you when you first hear it and it's not surprising why they are so successful! I have given Shirley the nickname of 'The Dark Angel' for good reason and I am sure she would appreciate that! The music itself is fantastic and much better than Shirley's previous group 'Angelfish' who didn't quite cut it! From the first blinding song 'Supervixen' to the totally lovely 'Milk' you won't find yourself skipping tracks often...unless there is a serious fault with your CD player! Yes...Garbage are a great group I will always love!
