Comments for Cheer-Accident, Not A Food

Not A Food is scary

Not A Food is scary-good. It's the bridge between rock and pure sound . . . there's skewed melodies, pseudo-metal riffs, jazzcore tendencies, etc. Not only is the album tight, but the band is extremely good live. I saw them, and I was amazed at the ease at which they handle complex rhythms / counter- rhythms and their ability to start / stop and change time sig- natures. They're mathematicians, to be for sure. Funny, scary, and really good. Music affeciandos, unite . . .

Experimental "Rock" album recorded and mixed in four days bySteve Albini. At the time, Cheer-Accidend was Phil Bonnet,Dan Forden, Thymme Jones, Jeff Libersher and Scott Rutledge.Very heavy and warm-sounding. Full of precarious turns andodd musical nooks and crannies. Their fifth full-length.
