Yeah strangetimes is one hell of an album it should be easy to get on cd now at midprice double cd reissue. Check out "tears" and tell me that isn't one of the best songs ever written. Also check out any of the other albums.

Yep. Swamp Thing is another really good track on this album. A cassette that I had didn't do the album any justice. Agreed, Tears is another great song with 2 versions on some US releases. Unplugged before their time.

This is one the best album I ever heard in my life, I know it for 6 years from now and I still listen to it once a week. The new CD edition is easy to find at a nice price.

The best album made by this phenomenal Londonbased band, and indeed "tears" is also my chameleons-favorite composition, does anybody know why this could be? Is it the lyrics, or what? I think it's the melancholia ...........

Strange Times is a really muscular record. I saw Cham UK about 11 yrs ago in NYC and was struck by how unpretentious their live show was. Its important to get all of their work in order to "feel" the trajectory of a band that should have been where U2 is right now.

Strange that you make the U2 comparison. I know Mark B well and he says they played with U2 in the "Boy" period but he thought U2 were "far better". The Chameleons did have Steve Lilliewhite as a producer for the first single "In Shreds" on CBS/Epic, but hated what he did to their sound. The label wanted him to produce their first album and they didn't like the idea (listen to "The Fan and The Bellows" and compare this against "Script of the Bridge"). Mr Lilliewhite went on to produce "Boy" for U2 and the rest, as they say, is history.

Greetings one and all,THE CHAMELEONS were the band that created the soundtrack to my teenage years. At nearly thirty there''s not a week goes by without me playing something. If i may pass on some advice, play Serocity and afterwards when you reach that "warm and fuzzy moment"play The Fan and The Bellows to remind you just how good it is to be alive.Thankyou for reading and stay safe.
This album is very difficult to find; I searched for it for 8 years! This band is phenomenal and anything by them is worth the search.Caution in particular is a hauntingly beautiful song.
