Comments for Pere Ubu, Cloudland

A great one. Their biggest pop moment which actually got them some public notice (which of course did no good as they were dropped by yet another label). An unlikely marriage of slick pop forms (courtesy of Pet Shop Boys/Erasure producer Stephen Hague) and their signature avant-garage that succeeds beyond anything I would have expected. A couple tracks could be excised from CD (LP is three or four cuts shorter), but all in all one of the best packages they have to offer. Out of print but not terribly difficult to find used.
