Comments for Sharrock, Sonny, Seize the Rainbow

Sharrock`s release in 1987 with his band. Unlike his works inLast Exit or his 1990`s Axiom solo release, this disc is morestraight sounding. After the sonic blast of noise in Dick Dogs(possibly the best track amongst the disc),the disc played around the tired blues/rock context which greatly confined Sharrock`s ability as an improvisor of avant-garde guitar. Noteven Sharrock`s fire and Melvin Gibbs (of Decoding Society, bass)and the two drummers can rescue this disc from being cliche ridden,let alone Bill Laswell, who produced many other fabulous works(such as Last Exit, Material, Praxis and Painkiller etc) can salvagewhat`s left from this disc. Look at other releases for bettershowcase for Sharrock`s playing.
