Comments for Garbarek, Jan, Visible World

These comments are a year or two overdue, but this album to me contains some of the most evocative music, that I have ever listened to. I saw him in Brighton, England only a few months ago, with the Hilliard Ensemble, and they were all mind blowing. I wish he came to England more often.

In case you`re unfamiliar with Garbarek, this is a greatrecord to start with; featuring his penetrating yet poetictenor sax evoking landscapes real and imaginary....images of whatever you like; such as the scenery of Garbarek`s homeland (and mine), Norway.So you don`t like jazz? Well, it`s not jazz...it`s...a painting that happens to be painted with a saxophoneand sundries.
