Comments for Oroboros, Shine

Oroboros' latest release, and first with the current line-up of musicians. The best track on the CD is, IMO, "Sunshine Sally" -- Jim Miller and Michael Rotman's only joint song to date (that I'm aware of), and hopefully the first of many. They have very different composing styles that complement each other well. When they first broke out this song in mid-'95, I was amazed at how rapidly it matured on-stage. Other stand-out tracks are Mike Verbick's "Arizona Man", a rowdy southwestern-style piece, Miller's Cajun-style "Cuyahoga Bayou", and Rotman's smooth and steady "Wishing To Go Home" Vocal harmonies are becoming far more common than I recall from before; Miller's and Rotman's voices blend well, and the backups by Verbick and bassist Will Douglas are smooth. Ik says to go get this one ... but he's biased :)
