Comments for Bourgeois Tagg, BOURGEOIS TAGG

This is a great album. It is the first release of 2 Bourgeois Tagg releases, and those are followed by 3 solo albums by Brent Bourgeois, great albums. Tim Meaney

Actually, this album is NOT Christian, although Brent Bourgeois subsequently became a Christian artist. This album is a real kicker, though . . . social commentary imbedded in some edgy, quirky tunes, heavy on the bass (Larry Tagg, who's terrific) and ultimately as dancable as listenable. Someone drop the next album in here! The Todd Rundgren produced "Yoyo". It's as slick and melodic as this one is edgy and quirky. Too bad this band didn't last . . .

I agree wholeheartedly with LBEARD; both albums are enjoyable - with "Yoyo" being slightly more accesible. And neither is a Christian album, nor were Bourgeois' first two solo offerings.

Gee...it seems a little strange that no one knows where this now-defunct good band was from. At least we know they spoke English....

Bourgeois Tagg is American, from the San Francisco area. They were definitely NOT a Christian band, although one or two of their songs might be construed that way. Incidentally, their guitarist, Lyle Workman, was quite amazing and I understand he put out a solo album late in 1995, which is probably worth a listen.

BT ultimately made Sacramento their home base. Lyle Workman has been playing with Frank Black and some with Jellyfish. Drummer Michael Urbano moved to Nashville, and backs up John Hiatt. Brent Bourgeois is also based out of Nashville, now. Larry Tagg remains in Sacramento, where he plays Saturday nights at JBs when not on the road with Todd Rundgren. The whereabouts of second keyboardist Scott Moon is unknown to me. Lisa Beard, now known as bashful@iquest.net and TaggFan@aol.com

I had this album when I was in high school and loved it!! Just picked up both of them at a used CD store. Having a great time with them both.

I think both albums have their strong points -- I would be hard-pressed to decide which is my favorite! Too bad there won't be any more . . .

In response to Lisa Beard(Taggfan@aol.com) Scott Moon is stil in Sacramento,CA. He''s been doing graphics & other related work includung work for former Sacramento TV host Bob Wilkins of "Creature Feature" fame. Brent & Larry have most recently(Summer ''99) on the new Chris Rodriguez CD on Word records,a Nashville-based christian label,of which Brent is staff producer & head of A&R. Brent produced this fine effort & Larry played bass & cowrote several cuts. Hope that clears things up. Lyle Workman is married & living in LA doing studio work. He released a solo CD entitled "Purple Passages" on the Infrared label.
ELECTRONICALLY ORIENTED CHRISTIAN ROCK. COMPARES TO PETER GABRIEL, MAD AT THE WORLD.
