Comments for Portion Control, Psycho-Bod Saves The World

As far as I know, this is the last studio album by Portion Control. The conceptbehind the album is a cross between William Gibson`s cyberpunk novels andthe movies Westworld, War Games, Alien, and Bladerunner. The lyrics boast ofcybernetic cowboys, futuristic cockpit snipers, video arcades, and skin jobs. As a gimmick, each song has its own enigmatic subtitle (a la Sigue Sigue Sputnik`s Flaunt It)which serves to enhance the `psycho electro` world that P.C. tries to convey. Thealbum is much more sample based than their previous efforts and the actual songwritingvaries from very good to boring and silly. Four of the tracks on this album made theirway onto the Portion Control compilation cd, The Man Who Did Backward Somersaultsreleased by T.EQ.? Music.------Over all, Psycho Bod... is a good album, but not spectacular.
