Comments for Bowie, David, TonightE-MAIL: marxplace@nf.sympatico.ca Bowie remains ever eccentric on this album as ever. The high point of the album is the ballad "Tonight", a reggae-inspired song sung with rocker Tina Turner. I liked the live version better (not on the album), on Tina Turner''s video TINA TURNER: GOING HOME. Beautifully produced by Hugh Padgham and Derek Bramble. Many guest musicians including Tina Turner (title), IggyPop (Big Boys)...Omar Hakim, Carlos Alomar, Sammy Figueroa,The Borneo Horns...Arif Mardin arrangements..."God Only Knows"is a cover of a Beach Boys song and if you ever heard the original Iggy`s version of "Don`t Look Down", you will knowwhy Bowie is one of the greatest...You may also recognize the old Leiber/Stoller "I Keep Forgettin` ".A turning point in his career after hard to top commerciallysuccesfull "Let`s Dance".And for you purists, the CD is ADD.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
