I was at the '97 concert at JB Park too. What a terrific concert! My favorite CD is still Tokala.

J.D. Blackfoot was a band, the lead singer used the name J.D. Blackfoot also. The two LP's listed are completely different bands except for the singer. There is no connection between this J.D. Blackfoot and the soul/R&B artist J. Blackfoot that is listed elsewhere. If anyone has other questions about the band's history, please contact me at gell@sqi.com

Please note that the Country of origin for the Ultmate Phrophecy is the United States. This album was recorded in New York per a conversation I had with J.D. Blackfoot on Sunday, Septermber 28, 1997 at his Third Annual Rendovous in Jefferson Baracks Park on Sunday, September 28, 1997. I hope this information is helpful to you. Sincerely, Greg Porter

I stumbled across this album in my stepfathers record colletion and am trying to find it on CD. This is an excellent album and Side 2 contains some of the most insightful lyrics I''ve ever heard. The music on this album is also of high quality especially in such songs as Waiting To Be Born. If nobody knows where I can find this on CD drop me a line.

lyrically it's funnier than anything in "Spinal Tap" I quote"what will it be like when I am born I have only to assume. For my mind is but the sperm and this earth be the womb." Hilarious, I love this band.

This band was heavily into the Occult. The Ultimate Prophesy, is entirely about Reincarnation. The band worshipped the pagan god Osiris, and partook in much Occult Ritual to gain the exquisite writing power that they had. I lived in Newark,Ohio, a stones throw from where the band began. They played at the Newark Armory many a times, their drummer, Dan Waldren, probably one of the greatest drummers of all times, beside the fact that he was only 16 when Ultimate Prophesy was cut, was an ardent practioner of the Occult Sciences, too. A former member of one of his later bands, recalled how Dan used to sleep in a coffin, and practice his daily rebirth from it, as most pagans do, if they are so apt to have purchased a coffin! This is a tremendous album, but it is not True Talent, it is talent that is Bought by the selling of ones soul, akin to Black Sabbath. One thing for sure, Sabbath was not the first on the market to sell their souls to the underworld. Blackfoot was just one of the many bands in the early sixties to have been partakers of this well hidden craft. Truth in Jesus Christ, TRICK

gell@sqi.com and Yank618@yahoo.com both need to deepen your research.Your comments are wrong.J.D Blackfoot is a man not a band and Ultimate is not the reincarnation you speak of.I am 100% Lakota.J.D is awhite man who had a vision. After this vision he legally changed his name.He is honored among my people for his truth. You to can know this truth but first you must get your facts and your own vision

There is a listing on this site that was added by an e-mail address of yank618@yahoo.com that is grossly incorrect. I tried to e-mail this yank618@yahoo.com and the e-mail came back as undiliverable. So I will post my answer to this persons ignorant statement. J D Blackfoot was never and is not a follower of any cult. Early drummer Dan Waldron was the only member of the band that played around with that kind of thinking and he was only in my band for under a year. I was the only one that was signed to Mercury records in those days and i assure you that I did not sell my sole to anyone to acheive my place in the history of music. I resent the fact that some uninformed ignorant a-----e has the pompus gall to get on this page and preach to us about how much they know of where my sole will end up. This cowards (I say that because they did not sign their name to this incorrect message) assumption that they somehow have an inside tract to the promised land is stupid and darkaged. Dear yank618@yahoo.com - go preach your ignorant message to those stupid enough to beleive that you know everything and leave those who care about J D Blackfoot's music to themselves. I am glad to have found this site and to answer this blundering baffonery. The true fans of J D Blackfoot can find my message board at JD Blackfoot.com and leave the street preachers and their lack of knowledge to sites like this one. Stay Happy friends, J D Blackfoot
