Comments for Dome, Will You Speak This Word

At first glance this is more listenable than the previous Dome efforts, but on more intensive listening it really starts to grate. It''s downbeat and minimal past the point of pain. However, "Dome 3" which this is paired with on CD is a fairly interesting effort for listeners adventurous enough to take the challenge.

DOME is the side project of Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewisof Wire. On this album, they experiment with electronics, harshsounds, and acoutic instruments. Some pieces are soft and ambientwhile others are brutal and chaotic. Vince Clarke guest stars on trackone with voice and Fairlight. DOME teamed up with Daniel Miller the same year in a project called Duet Emmo and released an albumon Mute Records UK in 1983 entitled, Or So It Seems.

Will You Speak This Word is actually called Will You Speak This Word: Dome IV and is only released in Norway. selected copies was imported to UK, but hasnt been released in UK before the cd reissue; Dome III/Will You Speak This Word: Dome IV (Mute - DOME 34CD) cd in August 1992. Tore Stemland.
