This album contains probably my favorite song of all time, "My new Career". Mick Karn's fretless bass is unequalled.

To me this album enables you to slip away from the pressures of life and into the world created by Sylivian, Karn,Jansen an Barbieri. The depth of music coupled with the vision in the lyrics is a pure treat. Though it is now almost 20 years old, the album provides an escape to the muzak which seems to be abound these days.

Has anybody heard about a songbook (with chords and/or guitar/bass scores) for Japan albums? And - do not forget about Rob Deanīs playing on "Gentlemen...". There is even one track by Dean on the Caroline version of the "Gentlemen..." album but it is not on the European (Virgin) version.
G.T.P. is the fourth album by Japan and a brilliant one at that. It`s my favorite, but some say that the following album, Tin Drum, was the best. Great songwriting, lyrics, synth, and one-of-a-kindbass and sax, a la Mick Karn, make this album a treasured piecein anyone`s collection. It`s kinda dark and moody at times andpossesses a nice ambience that`s hard to find in other albums fromthe same time.---Excellent! Highly Recommended!!
