Comments for The Nice, Ars Longa Vita Brevis

One of the earliest marrages between classical and rock.

An innovative album, but quite flawed. This is the usual product from the Nice: great ideas, poor execution. Both the reworking of Sibelius' "Karelia Suite" and Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No.6" (aka "Acceptance Brandenburg") prove to be the strongest pieces on the album, while the rest fall victim to Emerson's "more flash than talent" keyboard work.
