Comments for Boys Brigade, Boys Brigade

Good band with decent tunes sunk by bad singer! Yet another victim of the peculiarly Canadian syndrome. Witness Rough Trade, The Diodes, The Bop Cats, just to name three.
Produced by Geddy Lee of Rush; one single ("Melody") gained limited radio and video airplay.

To correct the previous poster, three songs from this album recieved quite a bit of airplay and videoplay: Passion of Love, Melody and Into the Flow. I would also disagree about the singer; I think the album shows how effective a vocalist with a limited voice can be and his singing style imparts a great deal of character. One of the best pop albums out of Canada in my opinion.

Boys Brigade is EXCELLENT! I saw them open for the Stray Cats in Boulder, CO almost 20 years ago and was very impressed with their two sets of drums. I immediately liked every song they played. I've got the album and two tracks on CD and wish the whole album was on CD. I, too think the vocals are great and versatile Melody, The Passion of Love, Saigon, The Cut Up, and Mannequin are especially superb! A very positively unique band!

I came across a cassette tape of "Into the Flow" somehow and thought it was great, listened to it a lot at the beach in Hawaii back in the '80s. Now the tape is funky and I wish I could find another copy. I liked every song. It always surprised me that they weren't more popular.

An terrific album from a band that was gone too soon. Their album should be on cd (where are you Anthem?), I think it would do fairly well. I too think the singer is great, reminiscent of Bryan Ferry in style and voice.keeping a Thank god that Passion of Love and Melody have made their way onto a couple of 80's hits albums.

A very easy album to listen to. I stumble accross it in my collection of albums in the closet usually when intoxicated. I love to sing along and I also find it easy to play along on my drums.I wish it were on CD I would buy it instantly.

About 20 years ago, I went to Boys Brigade's show in Montreal/Canada. I remember 3 drums and I never heard such a good show. I bought the LP but now I would like to have the CD. Last week I found the video of Melody, and I feel so good listening again this song. I want to listen again to the others too, because all these songs were excellent.
