Just found out this label has only regional distribution so far. Apparently, you can order direct @ 800/613-9800.
A magically eclectic album. Stirs up the retro-psychedelia of Eight-Miles-High-era Byrds and Break-on-Through Doors with the drive of She`s-the-One Springsteen, the ethereal harmonies of Deja-Vu Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young with the earthiness of Break-the-Chain Fleetwood Mac. Yet somehow it all sounds very 90s. The album is sharp in the lyric department, heavy in the guitar department and rich and thick in the vocal department. It`s full of originals that sound like you`ve heard them before til you realize you don`t know the words. Strengths: nearly everything, including songwriting and production--cool, since the press kit says it was recorded on 8-track analog gear! Ultimately, Cassard is a minstrel, wandering far and wide from the alternative-reggae of the title track, the--ouch!--hurtful satire of "Hometown" and "Civil War," through stark ballads like "Four Letters" and "Don`t Go Back to Sleep," and the lush Pink Floyd-iness of "10,000 Flowers." You haven`t lived until you hear Cassard`s blistering version of Neil Diamond`s formerly moldy classic "Holly Holy." Get This indeed.
