Comments for Monkees, The MonkeesE-MAIL: orang@utang.com The TV manufactured version of the Beatles. The Beatles - they ain''t. No matter how much Hollywood tried. Brill building songs: top slick L.A. musicians playing the instruments. Most of this album is Kellogs sponsored bubblegum for the 10 year old girls to sigh over. This album was only better than the next one because of 3 songs. "Sweet Young Thing" is a good early Nesmith bluegrass type of song. "Sweet Young Thing" rocks nicely & "Take A Giant Step" is a great song, but I''d reccomend any Taj Mahal version over this one. The Beatles & Dylan they ain''t. File "The Monkees" next to "The Archies," "Josie & The Pussycats," & "The Bugaloos." The TV show was good though, espcially the 2nd season. originally released in October 1966, this is a reissue albumby Rhino Records containing three new songs at the end of the album.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
