Comments for Monkees, Live-1967E-MAIL: orang@utang.com Who were playing the instruments?E-MAIL: asmithee@umich.edu On the four "solo" tracks (Mike''s "You Can''t Judge A Book", Micky''s "I Got A Woman", Davy''s "Gonna Build a Mountain" and Peter''s "Cripple Creek") instrumental backing is provided by Sam and the Goodtimers. Peter does play banjo on "Cripple Creek". Aside from these four tracks, all music is performed by the Monkees, with Micky on drums, Mike on guitar, Peter on bass and Davy on percussion. For a few tracks ("The Girl I Knew Somewhere" and "Forget that Girl" are two) Peter plays organ and Davy fills in on bass. He does so rather thinly, but he does. The last track "(I''m Not Your) Stepping Stone" is pretty ragged, but it does show that they''d been listening to Jimi when he traveled with them at the start of the tour. Live album recorded in 1967 and released 20 years later.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
