I was kind of hoping to be able to add this set to the database so I could use the "noise" style category. Because that''s all I heard: 3 hours of unstructured, unmelodic, unrhythmic, unadulterated noise. I knew I wouldn''t be able to sit through it again so I sold it after one play. Two guitarists (Bailey and Metheny) teamed up with two percussionists(Wertico and Bendian) blasting through three hours worth of freeimprovisation. Disc one and three are recorded live in Knitting Factory,while Disc two is a studio effort.The music are mostly high velocity, high volume blow-fest, butdisc two provide some calming, introvert moments. My only gripe with the set was that listening from speakers,Metheny often drowned out Baile in the mix. But with headphones,the problem is lesser-noticed.
