Comments for Original Sins, The, Bethlehem

Outstanding from start to finish! The best and most recent release from a band with many excellent releases already under their collective belts. The whole thing seems to be a concept album about life in Pennsylvania`s Lehigh Valley, where the band (and I) are from. I don`t know how much of the `insider` stuff will work for non-Valley residents, but the music hits on a visceral level that works for everyone. For years, the Sins have been playing around with influences -- occasionally Velvet Underground dissonance, then Seeds-ish acid-rage, then pure Stooges. Finally, with this album, they`ve synthesized all of those ideas into a sound that evokes all of them, but isn`t a rip-off. They`ve hit their stride.
