The album has some of Family`s best songs (In My Own Time, Part Of The Load). It`s one side studio, one side live. The live side is full of patchy sound. You need to be on lithium to listen to much of Family`s music. The anger and energy of Good News, Bad News followed by the depression of Willow Tree, the gentle acoustics of Holding The Compass, smashing guitars on Strange Band, vocal fury of In My Own Time, tongue-in-cheekness of Part of the Load, more depression of Anyway, closing with the war epic Lives and Ladies. They challenge you like no other band, except Gentle Giant.
