Hall`s first solo album is a tour - de - force of experimental rock, and is at some points, just plain weird. Songs about lesbians ("Babs and Babs"), Frippertronics by guitar virtuoso Robert Fripp ("Urban Landscape"), and a hard art - rock song ("NYCNY"). WHAT THE !@#$ WAS HALL THINKING?!, you ask. It`s an excellent album, and the strangest record Hall ever recorded, solo or with John Oates.
