Comments for Let's Active, Big Plans For Everybody

nrusko@firaxis.com
This is one of the best albums of all time. Ever. Hardly anyone knows about it, but when someone mentions it it, it's a tip-off that they know something. A litmus test of good taste. On a par with REM's Murmur and even more so, the perfect, underappreciated Chronic Town.
Let`s Active`s second full length release, "Big Plans ForEverybody" is darker and less playful than "Cypress" or "Afoot",and less rock `n roll than "Every Dog Has His Day". But it`salso their best. As he proved while producing REM`s "Murmur"in 1983, Mitch Easter knows that there`s a big differencebetween country music and Southern-influenced pop. BPFE`s puresound and twangy riffs shine through even a decade later. After hearingit, you`ll realize that Easter`s distinctive twangy stamp wasall over the early 90`s alternative scene. "In Little Ways" and"Reflecting Pool" in particular are gems. The only problemwith this album is finding it. Good luck.
