This CD release pairs Cypress and Afoot, Let`s Active`s firstEP and LP. Jangly Southern-influenced pop, with catchy riffsand light-hearted lyrics. The musical style shifts noticeablyin mid-stream, at the demarcation line between albums -- an early indicator of Mitch Easter`s movement toward darker moods and a harder edge. Though 20 songs long, most are quick pop ditties,and the album doesn`t drag. "Edge Of The World" is subtle and magnificent,and an hint of things to come. "Every Word Means No" was a minoralternative hit.
