Comments for Altered Images, Happy birthday

Though A.I. are one of my favorite bands I will be the first to admit that this album is a little stale. Some of the songs are pretty flat and forgettable and most of the good ones never reached their potential. Blame the producer. Of the good songs "Happy Birthday" is the best. Full of the character and life that the band would eventually achieve, mainly due to a different producer. Other great songs are "Insects" and "Beckoning strings". It makes me wonder what these songs would have sounded like if they were also produced by Martin Rushent. Scott Davies 4/2/98
