Comments for Bush, Kate, Hounds Of Love

Obviously the best album from The Sensual Kate. Two distinct faces (even on the CD !). The second one (The Ninth Wave) is the most homogen, very enjoyable, deeply hearttaking. Enjoy!

Perhaps feeling spurned by the negative critical and commer- cial response to The Dreaming, Bush went schizophrenic for her 1985 album Hounds of Love. Featuring two disparate concepts, one on either side of the tape or LP, the album as a whole is oddly enough one of her most cohesive. Side A is said to be the commercial side, spawning four big singles including "Running Up That Hill," her only American top 40 song to date (#30), and the beautiful "Cloudbusting," the video of which guest stars Donald Sutherland. But it is side B, The Ninth Wave, that must be heard to be believed. Almost cinematic in its presentation of its seven songs, all loosely about water or drowning, The Ninth Wave is a conu- copia of sounds, aural textures, arrangements and emotions that will draw you in as quickly and surely as a riptide. Once heard, you won't know how you've gone without this CD.

Additional Comments by mk59200@cs.tut.fi: I`ve seen another version of this album which has Running Up That Hill (Extended Version) as the last track on the first side. Anyone else know of this?
