The Shop Assistants were a 3 girl/1 guy band from Scotland who played the type of indie pop that was popular around the mid to late 80`s in the UK. They released early singles on the Subway and 53rd & 3rd labels before putting out this one classibc album on Chrysalis Records. It has long been out of print but was re-issued on CD by Overground Records in 1997 (information given here is for that release). Candy sweet vocals and power pop guitar jangle are combined to create one of the best releases in this genre. Highly Recommended!

this should have been a great album but the line between keeping their indie credibility and wanting major label recognition made this a tad dissapointing,still a very good album with some great tracks but not the earth shaker it should have been.
